Meet the Sage's
About the Insurance AgencyDennis and Christine Richards
Sage Insurance Group was the dream of Dennis Richards after 18 years of experience in the health insurance field. Dennis’ wanted to open his own agency with the freedom to provide the kind of customer service he himself would expect from his own insurance agent. Christine Richards, his wife, having grown up with two entrepreneur parents and a business / marketing education background jumped in to support the venture and in 2016, they opened the Richards Group Allstate insurance agency. Seven years later, possessing industry expertise and becoming somewhat frustrated with the lack of options available to captive insurance agents in an increasing hard insurance market, Dennis and Christine left Allstate, rebranded, and reopened as an independent insurance agency- Sage Insurance Group, with the ability to write policies through over 20 carriers.

We’re a husband-wife team that focuses on bringing back relationship-driven insurance coverage with people. Get to know us a little bit so you can see if we are a good fit to work together.

​Here are 10 facts about Dennis

1. Dennis has been working in the insurance industry for over 30 years!
2. His favorite flavor of ice cream is mint chip.
3. He loves US History, specifically WWII history. He wants to go to Europe to see some of the old war grounds some day.
4. His favorite five TV shows are: Breaking Bad, Better call Saul, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and Shark Tank.
5. He was a sports autograph collector when he was younger. His favorites that he collected are Ted Williams, Henry Aaron, and Pete Rose.
​6. He thought he would end up a stockbroker in Chicago when he was younger.
7. He started his own business because he wanted his children to see that hard work and taking a risk could be rewarding in the end. He didn’t want his children to be afraid to follow their dreams because he didn’t. No regrets, right?
8. Dennis has finished a marathon, 3 or 4 half marathons, 7-8 triathlons, and too many duathlons, 5-k’s and specialty races to count.
9. He not only coached youth baseball, but he was the Vice President for our local rec- baseball for 6 years while the boys were younger.
10. He loves anything Star Wars related... and Christine hasn’t seen one single movie.

​1. Christine used to be a teacher and a DECA/FBLA advisor.
2. Her favorite color is pink.
3. She is currently writing a book with aspirations to have the first draft finished by the end of 2025.
4. She really enjoys researching Waukesha county history and her family tree. She has documented most of her ancestral lines back to when they came to the United States. She also loves researching abandoned and historical Wisconsin places (and is always up for a good road trip to check them out). P.S. Did you know that a piece of Sputnik landed in Manitowoc, WI?
5. One of the items on Christine’s bucket list is to visit all 50 states.
​6. She is a third-generation entrepreneur and is very grateful for her experiences in her parents’ businesses.
7. Her idea of a great day is getting lost in an antique store.
8. Christine will try to heal just about anything using herbal medicine first.
9. When she was in high school she wanted to be a motivational speaker when she grew up.
10. She adopted a bunny a few years ago- or intended on adopting a bunny. She did this without telling anyone in the family, not even her husband, in advance-thinking, “it’s just one bunny...” However, she accidentally came home with 6 bunnies, since her bunny ended up being pregnant at the time. The baby bunnies were really cute for those 6 weeks we had them until we rehomed four of them. We kept one of them as a friend for the mommy bunny, Lily.
